Low budget reupholstery.

Customisation.

A common misconception amongst consumers is that reupholstery is a cheaper way to saving your furniture. This is a disappointing mistake often leading to dissatisfaction when quotations are higher than expected. Here at SEAM we don’t want our customers to be mislead into believing that reupholstery is the cheaper alternative to buying a new sofa and here is why…

So, why is upholstery so expensive?

We are providing a custom service so there can be no set price. Each piece of furniture has been individually crafted and it takes our expert team time and effort to identify all of the intricacies of that piece and the size and style of your piece will impact the price.

I can buy for cheaper!

It may well be true that you can buy a sofa for less than the price of reupholstery but custom made is very different to assembly line upholstery. High grade quality materials are sourced to ensure that your piece continues to offer comfort and durability. The care and detail that goes into customised upholstery will ensure that it lasts for years to come if not generations.

Each piece may need a variety of steps from consultancy, to design, to fabric selection, to the process of being ripped apart and making a custom pattern and adding any other features you may desire. The work will typically be carried out by one upholsterer from start to finish.

Not as it “SEAMs

In a nutshell reupholstery is not as easy as it may seem and so before making a decision to go that route, take the time to consider the reasons why you want to do it but also not to forget about the positive impact you are having on sustainability in an ever growing throw away society.
